Natural, undecorated and unflocked trees may be dropped off at the Municipal Service Center, 1260 Columbia Dr., and will be turned into mulch and compost to help beautify city parks and landscapes and sold to residents at a discount. Year-round, trees may also be set out at the curb and picked up as part of the City’s weekly Brush and Bulky Item Collection (BABIC). 

The Health Department is looking for groups to take part in this year’s Trash Bash, the City’s annual community event taking place this year April 15. Organizations, companies, friends, neighbors and families have the opportunity to gather together with the shared goal of beautifying and cleaning up local parks and creeks; all trash collection items such as trash bags, gloves and litter tongs are provided by the City. In addition, collections will take place across the city for items such as paper, electronics, eyeglasses, books, clothing and residential cooking oil/grease; watch future editions of Richardson Today for more information.
