City crews are continuing the cleanup effort after heavy rain and strong winds caused several downed trees and property damage around the community. Some area parks experienced wind damage, but debris has been cleared and parks are now open and safe for residents to visit.
Trash/Recycling/Brush and Bulky Item Collection (BABIC)
Clearing debris continues in the southwest area of the city. So far, 8 out of the 16 sections in the Monday BABIC collection area (southwest area of the city) have been cleared by crews. Workers will continue to focus on collecting debris in this area until all 16 sections have been cleared. Once all 16 sections have been cleared crews will resume BABIC collection in other areas of the city. Residents are still asked to request pick up service by calling 972-744-4111 or by using the MyRichardson app on a smart phone. You can also request a pickup online at www.cor.net/babic
Transportation & Mobility
At the beginning of the storm more than 25 traffic signals were out of service either due to damage or loss of power. As of Thursday, they have all been repaired or were back on normal power.
Power
ONCOR staff reported Thursday morning that all power was restored to its service lines in the city. Five of its customers did remain without power due to needed repairs. Updates on Oncor’s progress to restore power can be found at stormcenter.oncor.com
