RICHARDSON – The Charles W. Eisemann Center is now open to visitors Monday through Friday from Noon to 5 p.m. including the Ticket Office and the Forrest & Virginia Green Mezzanine Gallery, where the sculpture installation MotherBoard can be viewed until Aug. 2.
MotherBoard created by the ATEC LightSquad from the University of Texas at Dallas was unveiled Mar. 6 at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts. The large art display highlights the past, present and future of the city of Richardson as a tech hub. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The sculpture is part of a multiyear, interactive arts experience that is funded by the Eisemann Edge Endowment Fund, which was started with a $250,000 donation from community benefactors and civic leaders Ann and Charles Eisemann.
Eisemann Center visitors are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines and stay 6 feet apart. The restart of actual performances at the Eisemann Center will follow Gov. Greg Abbott’s multi-phased “Open Texas” plan and more details will be forthcoming on when events will resume.
“The Eisemann Center is a people place. It’s an entertainment destination, a venue for live performances. It’s a wonderful feeling to finally have some footsteps in our building. It’s going to be an exciting revamping, restarting, retooling and getting ready for events again,” said Bruce MacPherson, managing director for the Charles W. Eisemann Center.
