SCADA, which stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, continues to monitor the forecast. Staff in this department monitor Richardson’s water and waste water system from one centralized location. SCADA is much like a non-emergency call center that receives up to 50 calls a day, but during winter weather events like what we have experiencing those calls can go up to the hundreds, especially after a storm. We caught up with the City’s Utility System Superintendent to learn more. www.cor.net/winterweather
