City Council members and City staff gave remarks at Monday’s City Council work session to honor former DART President and Executive Director Gary Thomas. Thomas, who retired at the end of January, was in leadership with DART for almost 20 years, working closely with Richardson in promoting and expanding DART light rail and transit-oriented development. Richardson is an inaugural member of DART, one of the first cities to be included when it formed in 1983.
