Phase 1 of the updating process for the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Master Plan is underway along with the development of the City’s Active Transportation Plan (ATP).
Two open house meetings scheduled Mar. 2-3 are just part of the process of collecting data for the plans. There will also be focus groups and a community survey that will be available online Mar. 3.
The Master Plan guides the development and redevelopment of parks and recreation resources and serves as the primary planning guide for prioritizing future projects and programming. The ATP will serve as a roadmap to guide short and long-term priorities regarding active transportation.
The first open house was held this evening at Heights Recreation Center. The next one is scheduled for Thursday, Mar. 3 at Huffhines Recreation Center located at 200 N. Plano Rd. from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
