The Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground is officially open in Richardson and includes a pour-in-place rubber safety surface, four types of swings, an adaptive merry-go-round and other equipment including a family-style restroom and drinking fountain.

The 11,000-square-foot Parks and Recreation amenity is located in Cottonwood Park.

The idea for the inclusive playground came from the Richardson East Rotary Club which raised $500,000.  There were also other generous donors including Ann and Charles Eisemann who participated in the playground’s ribbon cutting ceremony.

“The way I feel is just pure joy and that will never stop. I’m going to come over here a lot and see who is playing and I’m not going to be able to stay away, that is how happy this all makes me and how much it warms my heart,” said Ann Eisemann.
