National Waterpark Day is this weekend, an opportunity for residents to visit the Heights Family Aquatic Center, located at 709 W. Arapaho Rd. The facility is a great place for the entire family to have fun while cooling off from the summer heat.
The facility is one of five outdoor pools available for public swimming in the City of Richardson. At Heights Family Aquatic Center residents can enjoy a leisure pool with a current channel, vortex and splash features in the beach front entry.
The facility, which includes a tot pool, slides and a lap pool with a basketball hoop, is open Noon-8 p.m. Sunday-Saturday. Starting August 15, Heights Family Aquatic Center opens weekends-only until Labor Day.
“Summer has been great. We have definitely seen a good amount of people. Swim lessons are going fantastic. We’ve seen an increase in people participating in swim lessons,” said Doug Kierstead, athletics and aquatics manager.
Cottonwood and Glenville Pools will remain open until July 31. Canyon Creek and Terrace Pools are open until August 11.
The final day of the swim season in Richardson is Monday, September 2. Visit www.cor.net/pools for more information.
