Tree-cycling and Holiday Box Recycling Starts Today 

Turn your Christmas tree into mulch and compost and keep large gift boxes out of the trash (and out of sight of would-be thieves) through the City’s Tree Cycling and Holiday Box Recycling programs.

Try Compostable Bags for Fall Leaf Collection 

Avoid having your leaves, small twigs and grass clippings end up in the landfill (and instead turned into compost and mulch) by putting them in compostable bags, setting them out along the front curb and calling the City’s Brush and Bulky Item (BABIC) request line (972-744-4111) for a free pickup.

Last Weekend for Santa’s Village 2023

There are three more chances to experience the magic and excitement of Richardson’s Santa’s Village at Huffhines Park—tonight (Friday, Dec. 15) from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, Dec.16-17 from 5-9 p.m.

Santa’s Village Opens 

Santa’s Village officially opened for the 2023 holiday season last Saturday at Huffhines Park, 1500 Apollo Rd., its home since being displaced last year due to the August 2022 City Hall fire.

Christmas Parade Winners Announced 

Awards for last weekend’s “Parade of Misfit Toys,” Richardson’s 51st annual Christmas Parade, were presented before the opening of Santa’s Village.
