Registration begins Monday, March 16 for the Richardson Police Department’s annual Summer Safety Camp, open to children who are Richardson residents enrolled in grades K-3 or nonresidents attending K-3 at RISD schools. Weekly camp sessions will be held from 9 a.m.-noon Monday-Friday at Yale Elementary School, 1900 E. Collins Blvd.

Campers will learn about:

  • 9-1-1
  • stranger danger
  • internet safety
  • animal safety
  • poison safety
  • water safety
  • and much more!

Sessions begin June 1 and end the week of Aug. 3 (no class the weeks of June 29 or July 6). Cost is $20 per child, per week (includes camp T-shirt). Register by contacting Huffhines Recreation Center. Note: Children may attend only one session per year. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Children who have not attended Safety Camp in the past will be processed first; if any openings exist after those registrations are processed, prior attendees may be placed.
