In celebration of the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon mission and first moonwalk, the Richardson Public Library is hosting several space-themed activities next week:
- “Rocket
Race” Scavenger Hunt July 9
Tweens and teens ages 11-18 are invited to take part in a “Rocket Race” team scavenger hunt from 3-5 p.m. in the Basement Program Room. Each correct answer earns your team a rocket piece. The first team to assemble their rocket wins! - Kids
Learn About “The Race into Space” July 10
Children ages 6 and up can explore the history of space travel, and the events that led to walking on the moon, with Solar System Ambassador Leslie Barnhill from 2-3 p.m. in the Basement Program Room. - Free
Family Movie: “Muppets from Space” July 11
All ages are welcome to enjoy a screening of the G-rated 1999 movie, “Muppets from Space,” in the First Floor Program Room from 6-8 p.m. Snacks provided!
