The Richardson Reads One Book (RROB) selection committee has announced this year’s RROB selection: “This Tender Land,” by William Kent Krueger. Published in September 2019, the coming-of-age story about Depression-era adolescents tells about a search for home that also reveals the abusive treatment of Native American children in schools during that time. The book is considered a companion to Krueger’s award-winning 2013 novel, “Ordinary Grace.”
As part of RROB, the author is scheduled to appear in Richardson Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Richardson High School Auditorium. Free tickets will be available at the Library beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24.
“This Tender Land” is available at the Library in regular print, large print and on CD, and may be checked out using the Library’s curbside service—for details, click here.
