RICHARDSON – Starting Monday, February 11th the Richardson Public Library will have new extended hours of operation.

The Library, which is located at 900 Civic Center Dr., opens Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The change in hours is part of the most recent Strategic Plan where resident input indicated a desire from the community to see the Library open earlier during the week.  The new hours mean the Library is now open 68 hours a week.

An average of 1,000 people visit the Library daily to enjoy the many resources and programs available including Library computers with free Internet access and Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

The Library offers a dedicated space for learning, interacting and creating with programming, web design, 3D printing and so much more.  There is a section for teenagers, a space for children, music and movie aisles as well as thousands of great books to enjoy.

In addition to all the services, the Richardson Public Library also provides free workshops, classes and several hours dedicated to storytelling.
