In keeping with the City Council’s 2021-23 Goal Strategy “to attract, develop and retain high-quality, innovative employees,” as well as continued workforce shortages affecting Richardson and other cities nationwide, the Public Services Department announced this week that it will increase the recruitment/hiring incentive to $5,000 for the following essential positions:    

  • Crew Chief (Utilities)  
  • Heavy Equipment Operator (All Divisions)  
  • Maintenance Helper II (All Divisions)  
  • Driver/Loader (Solid Waste)  
  • Water System Operator (Utilities)   

Any candidate receiving an offer for other full-time City of Richardson positions may be eligible to be paid up to a $2,500 or $5,000 recruitment incentive.  For those hired as a lateral-entry police officer are eligible to be paid up to a $10,000 recruitment incentive. Click weblink below to see each position’s specific recruitment incentive.
