After being named the PGA Professional of the Year for 2020 and inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in San Antonio in 2022, Sherrill Park Golf Course Pro Ronny Glanton and his achievements have been memorialized in stone at Sherrill Park. The limestone monument was unveiled at Monday’s City Council work session and later placed near the golf park’s signature clock, located behind the park’s clubhouse and near the start of Course 1.

Prior to the unveiling, Northern Texas PGA (NTPGA) Executive Director Mark Harrison spoke words of praise for Glanton and showed photographs of the new NTPGA campus in Frisco, which includes a two-acre youth golf park that has been named for Glanton. He also showed renderings of a Champions Walkway and Texas Golf Hall of Fame area to be constructed on the campus, both which will also recognize Glanton.

Glanton has been with Sherrill Park for more than 40 years, serving as the head professional there for the past 37 years.
