Late Fall and early Spring is a great time for homeowners to consider pruning shrubs and trees.

Pruning removes dead and dying branches and stubs, allowing room for new growth and protecting your property and passerby from damage.

Pruning deters pest and animal infestation while promoting a tree or shrub’s natural shape and healthy growth.

“Homeowners need to be very, very careful when pruning branches that are really close to power lines, electrical lines, any type of utility lines because that could be very dangerous. If people have branches that are really close to power lines and they are not sure they can do it themselves, its really best they hire a professional arborist to do that work,” said Kurt Beilharz, superintendent of Park Planning.
