City Manager Don Magner presented the FY 2023-24 proposed budget at the City Council’s regularly scheduled work session Monday. The proposed budget totals $399,004,296, an increase of $44,517,417, or 12.56 percent, over this year’s budget. It maintains the current property tax rate of $0.56095 and includes a projected increase of 7.05 percent in total property tax revenue. 

The Council will vote on the budget Aug. 28. Two public hearings will be available for community input prior to the vote—the hearings will be held in the City Council Chambers at the new Temporary City Hall, 2360 Campbell Creek Blvd., beginning at 6 p.m. on the following dates: 

  • Tax rate hearing Aug. 21 
  • Budget hearing Aug. 28 

If adopted, the new budget would take effect Oct. 1, 2023.
