The Richardson Police Department recently passed an onsite inspection by the Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA) as part of the TPCA’s Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. The Department has met the Association’s best practice standards since 2009 and was recognized as being one of the most tenured agencies in the program.

Participation in the accreditation program is voluntary and police agencies must prove their compliance with 170 Texas law enforcement best practices. These best practices were carefully developed by Texas law enforcement professionals to assist agencies in the efficient and effective delivery of service, the reduction of risk and the protection of individual rights.
