Every October, the City of Richardson helps promote police-community partnerships through National Night Out (NNO), a community-building campaign that includes block parties, cookouts, and youth events.
NNO gives neighbors a close look at police operations.
It also heightens crime prevention awareness, generates support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs while strengthening neighborhood spirit and sends a strong message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
“I think it’s really important to not only know your neighbors, but to build a positive relationship with the Richardson Police Department, they are great people, they sacrifice so much for us and we definitely want to give back to them, but we kind of have to hold down on the front
line first,” said Richardson resident, Allison Turner.
