The City’s Health Department provides an easy way for area families and groups to volunteer together outdoors, and a great way to celebrate National CleanUp Day Sept. 18: the Community & Corporate Environmental Cleanup Program (CCECP). Interested groups of any size may choose to clean up an area near their office/school/neighborhood or an area recommended by the CCECP coordinator. The City will supply trash bags, gloves, and trash tongs free of charge. Filled trash bags can be left in one pile at the cleanup site and a City crew will pick them up.

National CleanUp Day has been held annually in the United States on the third Saturday of September since 2017. It promotes large-scale and individual cleanup events and volunteering to keep the outdoors clean and prevent plastic from entering waterways.
