Preparation and construction work related to the DART Silver Line will increase in Richardson this month, as DART heads toward its 2024 start-of-service goal for the 26-mile east-west rail project.

Starting Monday, June 21, crews will begin site clearing and cleaning in the DART right-of-way between CityLine and the intersection of Renner Road at University Trail (see map), and beginning June 28, they will begin mobilization, soil testing and early construction activities for the planned Custer Parkway Bridge. The bridge over Custer Parkway will span between Renner Road and the Bush Turnpike and is an upgrade from DART’s original plans of an at-grade crossing.

The rail corridor work is expected to take place from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.
