Motorists and pedestrians near the intersection of
Arapaho Road and Plano Road may notice an abundance of orange plastic fencing
north and south of the intersection, as construction work on the Duck Creek
Trail’s extension has begun. The joint project between Richardson and Dallas County
will add about two miles of paved, multiuse trail to Richardson’s more than 60
miles of trail, connecting with the Glenville trail in Huffhines Park at Apollo
Road and the current Duck Creek Trail terminus at Plano Road just north of
Creekside Drive. The new trail will continue northwest to existing trail at the
intersection of Collins Boulevard and International Parkway.
The project is planned to be completed by the end of 2020.
