The Insignia Lattice artwork which will be located right in front of the new Richardson Fire Station 1 has arrived and is currently being installed.
The art includes 30 graphic panels made of carbon steel and a total of 22 frames that hold the panels.
The smaller pieces weigh about 250 pounds each, while the large panels weigh about 600 pounds.
“Art typically brings curiosity and its kind of a magnet for people, so we hope the art work is a point of interest for anyone who comes to Richardson,” said Armando Artega, Metalab.
Crews hope to have the artwork complete by the end of the week.
Watch the video as we caught up with a representative from the firm that helped artists with the design and who is overseeing the installation.
