At Monday’s City Council meeting, the Richardson City Council honored Richardson resident Gicela Aleman for her heroic efforts in saving the life of a fellow female shopper after a mass shooting occurred at the Allen Outlet Mall in May. In a proclamation, Mayor Bob Dubey recognized Aleman for her “extraordinary efforts” and noted her “kindness and genuine commitment to the welfare of others.” Aleman rendered aid to the woman at the request of police officers and transported her to the emergency room. Aleman was recognized on the floor of the U.S. Congress in July.
