RICHARDSON – Many families had fun at the Pet Carnival hosted by Furry Friends of Richardson and supporting the Richardson Animal Shelter.

“A nonprofit that can help the shelter is beneficial for the animals at the shelter and also gives a great opportunity for dogs to get medical care too and find a forever home,”  said Raymond DeGuzman, President, Furry Friends of Richardson.

Several community groups participated in the event as well as the Richardson Fire and Police departments. The carnival was held at Richardson Bike Mart where some of our lucky furry friends had a chance to find forever homes.

“I think it’s really important just to see the community support of the local animal shelter,” said vendor,  Mary Gonsiorek, who owns Gonzotails.

Starting today, June. 5 the Richardson Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees for all adult dogs and cats.

“I love coming out, getting part of the community, and just kind of showing that we’re here, we’re here, just don’t forget about us. If you’re looking for a dog or a cat, please come to the shelter, check us out. We’re getting dogs and cats every day and they need homes desperately,” said Joshua Polando, Richardson Animal Services.
