The 2020 Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program officially kicked off this week. This is the third year of the program, which is a collaboration between the City, the Richardson Independent School District and the Richardson Chamber of Commerce.
“They get experience. They get to interact with professionals in different industries and learn valuable skills,” said Mayor Paul Voelker.
The program enables incoming high school seniors to receive eight weeks of paid summer employment at a local business, nonprofit or government agency.
Student applications will be accepted through Feb. 29 and employer commitment forms will be accepted through April. 1.
Employers may sponsor an intern at their workplace, sponsor an intern at a nonprofit and/or underwrite components of the program such as the Job Fair.
