Children and teens gathered recently along with adult leaders to pick up trash and help beautify Richardson parks, as part of the city’s Community & Corporate Environmental Cleanup Program. Teens from Wylie Preparatory Academy gathered at Breckenridge Park in honor of student Ally Hooten, who passed away in January 2017. Additionally, Brownie Scouts from Girl Scout Troop 3878 met at Foxboro Park, where they heard a presentation about litter from one of the Scouts before picking up trash along the creek.

The Community & Corporate Environmental Cleanup Program is open to any group who wants to help clean up our parks and improve the health of our creeks. All supplies are provided, including trash tongs, gloves and trash bags, as well as the pick-up of filled bags when the project is finished.
