High school students from the Richardson Independent School District are showing off their best drawings, paintings and photographs during the annual Young People’s Art Show at the Richardson Public Library.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Richardson Civic Art Society and will be on display at the Library until March 22. Organizers said the exhibition is a great opportunity for students because art has the potential to guide them down a successful path.
“It kind of shows their feelings, and current events that are happening in the world today, it comes out in their art. They have such creative minds and such talents, its an encouragement for them to use this in their future art endeavors,” said Debbie Langham, vice-president of the Richardson Civic Art Society.
Art work currently displayed at the Library is being judged by the Richardson Civic Art Society. Judges will choose a first place, second place, third place and honorable mention in the various categories that includes cash prizes.
The winners will be announced Tuesday, March 19 during the organization’s regular meeting.
