Though some City of Richardson facilities operated with modified hours this week due to the winter storm, several departments have continued working around the clock to ensure the safety of Richardson residents and visitors.

In addition to the always-24/7 emergency response provided by Richardson’s Police, Fire and Office of Emergency Management, additional City storm response work has included:

  • Spreading of treated sand on several high priority traffic areas — bridges, major roads, intersections and emergency room driveways,
  • Clearing downed trees on alleys and roads, and
  • Operating a 24-hour warming center in the lobby of the Richardson Police Department (200 N. Greenville Ave.).

There have been limited reports of power outages, minor vehicular accidents and one water main break.
