The 49th Annual Christmas Parade was held today in Richardson with plenty of festive floats and holiday cheer.

Santa’s Village in Richardson has officially opened. Families are invited to visit the 16 dwellings starting tonight, Saturday, Dec. 4 through Dec. 19.

Richardson’s Parks and Recreation staff and volunteers are putting the finishing touches on this year’s Santa’s Village, which is set to open Saturday, Dec. 4 immediately after the Christmas Parade Awards Ceremony, and running through Dec. 19.

“There’s No Place Like Home” is the theme for the 49th Annual Christmas Parade taking place Saturday, Dec. 4 at 9 a.m. The parade will honor medical professionals who serve the Richardson community.

Toy and Food Drive Benefiting Network Continues

Donations of unwrapped toys and canned/shelf stable food are needed for the Richardson Fire Department’s annual toy and food drive, benefiting the clients of Network of Community Ministries.

Items may be taken through Dec. 17.

2020 “Shoebox Parade” Wins Statewide Award

The City of Richardson Parks and Recreation’s Community Events team was honored last month with several awards from the Texas Festivals and Events Association (TFEA), including Best Miscellaneous Multimedia and Best Overall Virtual Event for last year’s “Santa’s Village on Parade: A Virtual Shoebox Parade.”
