The newly renovated Senior Center features a state-of-the-art fitness space utilized by a range of members including Hal Schroeder who recently celebrated his 101st birthday in October.

Get to know Richardson’s “newest” destination Oct. 23 at the Main Street Celebration in the downtown Richardson/Main Street area, aka the Core District. The City and Core District merchants are hosting the free event, which features live music, street performers, family-friendly activities, food vendors and shopping.

After being sidelined for more than a year due to pandemic safety regulations and budget restraints, the City’s popular, annual community events schedule started back up in earnest last weekend as the City held Huffhines Art Trails/Pawtoberfest.

The Parks and Recreation Department began setting up Santa’s Village this week in order to have it ready by its opening day, Dec. 4.

Livability has named Richardson to its annual “Top 100 Places to Live in America” list. The company specializes in data-driven rankings for small- to mid-sized cities, analyzing more than 1,000 cities each year on factors such as safety, affordability, economic stability, outdoor recreation, accessibility and community engagement.

Early voting for the Nov. 2 Constitutional and Joint Election began Monday and is taking place through Oct. 29. Both Dallas County and Collin County residents may vote early at Richardson Civic Center/City Hall or any other early voting location in their county.
