Attendees will hear insider stories of Richardson’s growth, tracing the City’s civic, economic, cultural and academic progress from the 1960s to now, from a panel featuring a wide array of leaders in the Richardson community and the local Rotary clubs.

As part of Richardson’s 150th birthday bash next Saturday, June 24, items from a time capsule buried at Richardson’s centennial celebration in 1973 will be unveiled and put on display—and a new one will be sealed.

See what the Como Motel looked like in the 1960s as well as other places (and faces) from Richardson’s 150 years of history, in this display of more than 60 photographs from the Richardson Public Library’s Local History Collection.

Byron Purdy will provide the audience with an intimate understanding of Black milestones within America’s past and present, using historical context and personal experience.
