UT Dallas President Richard Benson presented the annual State of the University presentation virtually this week, featuring additional remarks by the University’s Speaker of the Academic Senate, the Student Government president and the immediate past president of the Staff Council.

Of note:

  • UT Dallas is among the top three public universities in Texas for graduation rates
  • Total fall 2020 enrollment is 28,670, with undergraduate enrollment slightly up due to returning students, and graduate student enrollment slightly down
  • Five instructional modalities are being offered this fall including online and in-person learning
  • Annual federal research expenditures are on pace to reach the school’s 2023 target of $60 million/year
  • New facility construction is on pace to reach the 2023 target of 2.3 million square feet
