RICHARDSON – The television production company, Ko-Mar Productions, has spent the last few days in Richardson filming Sherrill Park Golf Course for an upcoming special to air on CBS Sports.
The show will help put the national spotlight on Richardson and Sherrill Park’s Head Professional, Ronny Glanton, who was recently selected as the 2020 “Professional of the Year” by the Professional Golf Association (PGA), one of the largest sports organizations in the world. Professional of the Year is the PGA’s highest honor.
“We’ve worked with Jack Nicholson, Tiger Woods and now we’re working with Ronny Glanton. He is obviously the top of the top. Ronny is the epitome of public golf,” said Jim Gallagher, Vice-President of Ko-Mar Productions.
Sherrill Park Golf Course sits on more than 300 acres and consistently ranks among the top municipal golf facilities in Texas.
The TV special will touch on Glanton’s 35 year career in Richardson as well as the popular programs offered at the facility including the Junior Golf Team which continues to introduce young people to the game of golf.
“I think it just gives the golf course a lot of recognition and exposure. The PGA Professional of the Year award is not just a single award for me. I can never win anything like this without having an outstanding staff and an outstanding team,” said Glanton.
