The summer’s hot weather can cause North Texas’ clay soil to become extremely dry and to constrict, causing some home foundations to shift and/or sink.

The City’s latest Environmental Resources Newsletter offers several tips on how to visually inspect to see if your foundation needs watering, and how to properly water your foundation using pop-up sprinkler heads, soaker hoses or a drip irrigation system.

Remember that soaker hoses and drip irrigation systems may operate on any day at any time so long as they do not create excessive water runoff, while pop-up heads may only be used during your designated watering days and times.
