The City of Richardson is seeking public input as it develops an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan to identify and address barriers that limit access to public facilities, programs and transportation infrastructure. Residents are invited to share their experiences and provide feedback—a survey (see link below) will be available Aug. 1-Sept. 30 and an in-person community meeting will be held Aug. 26 (details below).

The ADA requires public entities to have a documented plan outlining how they will bring buildings, programs and infrastructure into compliance with federal accessibility standards. The plan includes a review of existing conditions, identification of physical and programmatic barriers and a proposed timeline for making improvements.
