Studio RPL inside the Richardson Public Library is an exciting space to get creative and learn new technology.  The studio, which is in the basement of the Library, includes soundproofed A/V room with green screen and video camera, soft box lights and a microphone.

The studio helps residents create their own YouTube Channel, start a podcast or produce content for a website.

The studio includes Dell creative laptops with MS Office software, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, Adobe Printer and Arduino for residents to check out. Studio RPL also has LittleBits Coding Kits, MaKey Makey circuit boards, Sphero SPRK+ robots and LEGO Mindstorm.

“It’s a nice inviting space for residents of all ages that is free to use.  Residents have access to professional tools that they might not be able to afford. It’s a nice option for the community,” said librarian Keri Samples, Richardson Public Library.

Studio RPL has open lab every Friday until August 9 between 2 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Residents can also use Studio RPL on other days.  They can make an appointment by filling out the ‘Book a Librarian’ form online at www.cor.net/library
