Student and business recruitment is now underway for the annual Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program. Now in its fifth year, the program enables incoming high school seniors to gain real-world experience related to careers in which they’ve expressed an interest and allows employers to invest in Richardson’s future workforce and get to know some of the area’s most motivated young talent. All students who qualify based on the initial application process receive free workforce readiness training. Those chosen for internships work between June 6-Aug. 5. Businesses may sponsor a student at their work site and/or sponsor a student to work at a local nonprofit.

The student application deadline is March 17; employers have until April 1 to apply. For more information, visit www.RichardsonMayorsInternships.org.
