RICHARDSON – In 2019 several online organizations and publications rated cities across the country based on access to housing, employment, and other categories such as education and quality of life with the City of Richardson ranking high on several lists.
The www.chamberofcommerce.org ranked Richardson third place for “Best Cities to Live in Texas.” The report based its findings on Richardson’s access to employment, housing, quality of life, education and health facilities. Richardson was also named “Best Place to Live in Texas” by www.livability.com which based its metrics on quintessential meal spots, weekend activities and local dream jobs. It also ranked the City 34th for “Best Place to Live in the United States,” compared to cities in Richardson’s population range. It also ranked Richardson 9th for “Best Places for STEM focused jobs.”
For people who get to work by car, www.caring.com ranked Richardson 8th in the nation for access to employment by automobile for seniors thanks to the City’s transportation network and proximity of employers. The group also ranked Richardson 9th for “Best City to Retire in Texas.”
Niche, formerly known as College Prowler, is a ranking and review site that placed Richardson 6th in the nation for “Best City for Senior Living” and 12th place for “Best Place to Live” and 7th place for “Best Place to Buy a Home” in the U.S. Wallet Hub ranked Richardson 8th for “Fastest Growing Midsize City in Texas” and 23rd for “Fastest Growing Midsize City in the Nation.” Credit Sesame ranked Richardson 9th for “Best in the Nation for Being Recession Proof.”
Richardson’s Heights Family Aquatic Center made Leslie’s Pool Supplies Service & Repairs’ Top 10 List for “Best Pools in the U.S.” and Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival was named “Best Music Festival in Metroplex” by the Dallas Observer.
