Richardson’s Community & Corporate Environmental Cleanup Program is one way residents and business volunteers make the city a better place to live, work and play.

Each year, volunteers from area businesses, nonprofit organizations and other groups come together to spruce up Richardson.

“We’ve had several companies in the past use it as a get to know me type of exercise for employees who may work in different departments. They also use it as team building or some even make the cleanup into a competition among themselves,” said Janice Tower, assistant director of Health.

The cleanups are facilitated by the Health Department, which provides volunteers gloves, bags and litter tongs for them to use.  The program is also a great way for groups to improve the quality of the environment.
