Ronny Glanton, the City’s PGA head professional at Sherrill Park Golf Course, has been named the 2019 Section Golf Professional of the Year by the Northern Texas Professional Golfers Association (NTPGA) Section. He is the first three-time winner of the annual award, having previously won in 1999 and 2007.

Glanton has been Head Golf Professional at Sherrill Park since 1985, beginning as Assistant Pro in 1982. As Head Pro, he manages all golf course operations and programming.

He is ranked eighth in all-time points for the NTPGA, winning several NTPGA senior events and, along with his playing partner, won the NTPGA Pro-Assistant Championship in March 2018. In addition, Glanton has qualified for the Byron Nelson Golf Classic seven times and won the Callaway Invitational in Kissimmee, Florida in 1995. Glanton has served in several leadership roles within the NTPGA and PGA of America, including twice as president of the NTPGA, the only two-time president in the group’s 51-year history.
