Cellist/singer-songwriter Shana Tucker, who is performing at the Eisemann Center on Friday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. is spending this week facilitating workshops for music students in the Richardson Independent School District.
On Wednesday, Ms. Tucker visited Lake Highlands, Richardson and Berkner High School. On Thursday, she will be at Pearce High School.
The workshops are part of the Eisemann Educates program, the educational and community outreach component of the “Eisemann Center Present” series.
“It’s important for me to meet with kids and remind them to find their voice, to find their creativity and to give back to this world in a way that keeps us joyful through music,” said Tucker.
Since the 2004-05 season, the program has enabled local students from elementary through college to interact with a variety of touring acts each year. In addition, students often are invited to perform at the Eisemann Center with the artist.
