School Zone Signals Tested and Ready for Start of School

In preparation for the start of RISD and PISD classes, Traffic Operations began testing school zone signals this week.

The testing not only helps Traffic Operations staff know if repairs are needed, but also helps drivers acclimate to slowing down in school zones. It’s also a good time to remember that using a cell phone while driving in a school zone carries up to a $200 fine.

The first day of school is Aug. 12 for PISD and Aug. 15 for RISD.
