School Supplies Sales Tax Holiday Begins Aug. 11

The annual back-to-school Tax Free Holiday begins Friday, Aug. 11, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 13. The event exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks (priced under $100) from sales and use taxes. The holiday applies to items purchased from a Texas store or from an online or catalog seller doing business in Texas. Some exclusions apply.
