Representatives with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) also toured Richardson’s tornado-impacted areas this week. Different from FEMA, the SBA determines whether renters, homeowners, businesses, private non-profit organizations and others impacted by the Oct. 20 tornado will be eligible to apply for low-interest, long-term loans for losses not fully covered by insurance or other means.

The SBA is expected to make an announcement on the availability of loan support in the coming week.
