The Parks and Recreation Department began setting up Santa’s Village this week in order to have it ready by its opening day, Dec. 4. The miniature holiday town located on the Civic Center/City Hall Fountain Plaza involves about two weeks of work to put together the 16 tiny dwellings and another few weeks to decorate the buildings and grounds. Extra time is also built in for possible weather delays.
Depending on health and safety conditions at the time of the event, Santa’s Village will open for the season Dec. 4 and will be open Thursdays-Sundays through Dec. 19. Hours of operation are 6-9 p.m.
