This week City crews began dismantling the buildings at Santa’s Village and taking down the lights and decorations, packing everything away until late fall, when Santa’s Village will once again be built.
Community Events staff reported that Santa’s Village 2021:
- distributed more than 3,000 Rudolph red noses in the Reindeer Shed
- captured more than 3,743 photos with Santa
- redeemed 6,670 Hometown Thursday tickets
- featured more than 1,550 performers on Prancer’s Stage
- It took 915 volunteers to execute Santa’s Village over the course of 10 nights, logging 3,202 hours. Event staff prepare the village for almost two months.
The City of Richardson has been presenting Santa’s Village free of charge to the public since 1989.
