RICHARDSON – During the COVID19 pandemic, organizations like the Richardson Theatre Centre are turning to social media for help in entertaining the community. The group just launched “Theatre of the Imagination,” a series of vignettes produced in an old-time radio fashion.

The cast of the new web series has appeared on the RTC stage before. For most, this is the first time they will be performing straight from home without an audience.

Each episode will be filled with music, sponsors and comedy. Leaders with the theatre hope the virtual series will bring the community together from a safe distance.

“I hope people will tune in and just get reminded of why they like live theatre. We still want to entertain; we just can’t do it in person yet. So, in the meantime, sit back and enjoy a little vignette,” said actor Gary Anderson.

RTC is currently replacing its ceiling tiles, updating its lighting system and working to sanitize the entire building, all in preparation for when it reopens. The series is planned to continue even after RTC reopens its doors.
