The City of Richardson has many opportunities for residents to give back to the community, whether its through donations or volunteer time, contributions have created some notable differences.
From the Richardson East Rotary Club’s tremendous work to raise funds for the Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground at Cottonwood Park to the support given by State Farm to help fund new police and fire equipment.
These opportunities of giving were highlighted during this year’s State of the City Address.
“We want to do the right thing and it’s not about making money and it’s not about just running the business, it’s about how we can influence the lives of others and to be able to do that is critically important to us,” said Dan Beacom, regional vice president of GEICO.
There are also many volunteers providing help to organizations such as Friends of the Library, Darbey’s Storywalk and GEICO, who sponsors the annual Corporate Challenge.
