The logo design, social media channels and website for Richardson’s sesquicentennial birthday celebration were presented to the City Council during this week’s work session. Design of the logo incorporates the use of wildflowers, which have become synonymous with Richardson over the years, with an annual citywide planting program and the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival. In addition, a tagline (“Built on success year after year”) was also developed for use with the logo.
The new website will serve as a Richardson Sesquicentennial one-stop resource for history, events and volunteering opportunities. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels will launch in January, all using the moniker “Richardson150th”.
Community organizations and businesses wishing to host events related to the sesquicentennial will be able to download the 150th branding free of charge and are encouraged to sign up on the website to volunteer for events or projects.
